Laura Lightbody

Laura Lightbody currently serves as Governance & Legal Counsel at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative, where the focus is on promoting a sustainable financial system in collaboration with civil society. Prior to this role, Laura was a Legal Director in the Financial Regulation practice at Addleshaw Goddard, advising financial services clients on emerging ESG regulation and related legal risks. Laura's experience includes a Governance Adviser position at NatWest Group, providing guidance on executive governance, sustainable banking, and climate change, as well as a Senior Solicitor role at Standard Life, offering in-house legal support. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from The University of Edinburgh, along with early training at various law firms.
