Karen Grothe Villholth serves as the Director at Water Cycle Innovation and is currently a Consultant for UNESCO and The World Bank. With extensive experience in groundwater management, Karen held various positions at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) from 2004 to 2022, culminating in the role of Coordinator of the Global Groundwater Solutions Initiative for Policy and Practice (GRIPP). Previous roles include Senior Researcher at GEUS and IWMI, as well as a Water Resources and Soil and Groundwater Specialist at DHI. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and a MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, alongside another MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.
