Abebe Senbeta

Abebe Senbeta is a professional with extensive experience in humanitarian and social work. Currently serving at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since May 2023, Abebe previously held roles including Acting Head of Field Office and Emergency Project Officer at HelpAge International from September 2021 to May 2023. Additional experience includes serving as CPiE Coordinator for UNICEF from July 2020 to May 2021 and Program Officer for Protection at OLSA from February 2016 to July 2020. Earlier career positions include Project Coordinator at ROWS-Celebrate Children International and Fellow/Project Assistant at Mekdim Ethiopia. Abebe holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Jimma University.
