Gelfiya Shchienko

Gelfiya Shchienko currently serves as the Deputy Representative Operations at UNICEF since February 2023. Prior experience includes the role of Director for Management and Finance at OSCE from May 2020 to February 2023, and Chief of Planning and Budget at UNICEF from May 2018 to April 2020. Gelfiya has also held multiple leadership positions at the United Nations Volunteers between February 2014 and May 2018, including Chief of Volunteer Solutions Section and Chief of Results Management Support Section. Earlier in the career, Gelfiya worked at UNDP as Operations Manager and Finance Specialist from May 2002 to February 2014, as well as head of Finance and Programme Associate at FAO from August 1999 to April 2002. Gelfiya holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Edinburgh Business School (2010-2012) and a Specialist degree in Linguistics from Tajik State Institute of Languages (1997-2003).
