Jaya Murthy

Jaya Murthy has extensive experience in communication and strategic partnerships within UNICEF, serving as Chief of Global Internal Communications since March 2009, where leadership in internal communications reform and organizational change is emphasized. Previous roles include Chief of Communication and Strategic Partnerships in Uganda, where public communications, advocacy, and innovative finance solutions for Early Childhood Development were key responsibilities, and Chief of Strategic Communications and Partnerships in Iraq, focusing on external relations and resource mobilization. Jaya has also held leadership positions in emergency communications during critical crises in Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and has a strong background in protection and refugee services from earlier work with UNHCR and other organizations. Jaya's educational credentials include advanced degrees from McGill University and various certifications from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and the University of Oxford.
