Sophia Alejandro

Sophia Alejandro is currently a Policy Fellow at UnidosUS and has been serving as a Teach For America Ambassador and a high school English teacher in San Antonio, Texas, since August 2021. Previously, Sophia held the role of Policy Fellow with the South Dakota Educational Equity Coalition, where efforts focused on analyzing social studies standards and their impact on indigenous students. Additional experiences include participation in Leadership for Educational Equity initiatives, serving as an AmeriCorps member, and intern roles at TurnUp Activism and the Baylor Line Foundation. Sophia holds a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy Analysis and Evaluation from The George Washington University and a M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Relay Graduate School of Education, along with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Baylor University.
