Jess Phoenix

Jess Phoenix, FRGS, is a distinguished scientist and educator with extensive experience in geology and environmental research. Currently serving as a Science Ambassador for the Union of Concerned Scientists since January 2023, Jess also founded and leads Blueprint Earth, a nonprofit dedicated to ecosystem research in California's Mojave Desert. As a consulting geologist, responsibilities include coordinating exploration geology activities and mentoring junior geologists. Jess co-hosted a science-focused podcast, Catastrophe!, and has held various roles in public communication and advocacy, including a candidacy for US Congress. With advanced degrees in geology and fine arts, Jess possesses a diverse skill set that spans scientific research, education, and community engagement.
