Abdelaziz Abdelaziz is an accomplished human rights professional with extensive experience in various roles within the United Nations and related organizations. Currently serving as a Human Rights Adviser to the Resident Coordinator/Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria since July 2015, Abdelaziz previously held positions including Officer in Charge of the Syria Country Office at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and Human Rights Officer at the UN OHCHR Country Office for Yemen. With a background that includes leadership roles in monitoring human rights situations in Syria and North Darfur, as well as expertise in international humanitarian law, Abdelaziz has contributed significantly to human rights advocacy and implementation over two decades, beginning with a foundation in political science and law from respected institutions in the UK and the US.
