Matilde Mordt

Matilde Mordt is an experienced professional dedicated to sustainable development and environmental management, currently serving as the Resident Representative for UNDP since November 2007, where efforts are focused on implementing Agenda 2030 in Ecuador. With a strong background in leading regional teams, Matilde has provided policy and technical advice across Latin America and the Caribbean to promote the SDGs, poverty reduction, and disaster risk management. Previous roles include Practice Manager for Environment and Energy and Assistant Resident Representative, emphasizing project management, cross-practice collaboration, and capacity building. Matilde's early career includes consulting and academic positions that contributed to expertise in rural development, natural resource management, and institutional strengthening, complemented by extensive academic qualifications, including a PhD in Human and Economic Geography from the University of Gothenburg.
