Kurt Southerland

Kurt Southerland serves as the Region Safety Director for Trench Safety at United Rentals since June 2011, focusing on cultivating a world-class safety culture within the organization, and has previously held roles in the South Region and Corporate Safety. Additionally, Kurt Southerland is an Adjunct Professor in the Occupational Safety Department at Southeastern Oklahoma State University since August 2009, teaching online classes. Prior professional experience includes positions as EHS Manager at Nokia Siemens Networks, SW/LAN Area EHS Manager at Motorola, Safety Supervisor at Peterbilt Motors, and Loss Control Manager at Poco Graphite Inc. Kurt Southerland holds an MBA in Management from Dallas Baptist University and a BS in Manufacturing Technology from the University of North Texas.
