Matthew Reitman

Matthew Reitman currently serves as a Program Specialist at the United States Institute of Peace, focusing on Sudan, since July 2019. Previously, Matthew held various positions within the West Africa Program, which included roles as Senior Program Assistant and Program Assistant, emphasizing security governance in Nigeria. Matthew's experience also includes research and analysis roles at the Nigeria Program within the Africa Center and internships with the U.S. Department of State and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Matthew's early career involved writing at RealClearLife and photo editing at New York Daily News. Matthew earned a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and International Relations from Boston University.
