Larrin Thomas

Larrin Thomas is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in metallurgy and materials engineering. As the owner of Knife Steel Nerds since February 2018, Larrin Thomas has focused on providing educational resources for knifemakers and researching tool and stainless steel properties. In addition to this role, Larrin Thomas has served as a Product Development Engineer at United States Steel Corporation since October 2015, specializing in Advanced High Strength Steels for the automotive industry. Prior to these positions, Larrin Thomas was a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado School of Mines, working on research related to dual phase steel. Larrin Thomas began a career in research at the University of Nevada Reno, developing cost-effective casting methods for aluminum structures and earning a General Undergraduate Research Award. Larrin Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
