Christopher Mirek

Christopher Mirek is a Quality Assurance Engineer and Medical Device Engineer specializing in sterile products at United Therapeutics since March 2014. Previously, Christopher held a position as a Design Engineer at SonoVol, LLC, where contributions included the design and creation of CAD models for a novel ultrasound imaging device. As part of the NCSU Senior Design team, collaboration with surgeons from Duke Hospital led to the development of a surgical stapler, utilizing a five-phase design control process akin to FDA regulations. Additionally, Christopher designed an experiment for the BME Biomechanics Project to study the effects of axillary crutches on blood flow, and served as a Graduate Lab Assistant in the NCSU Mechanical Engineering Department, developing liver tumor model prototypes using SolidWorks. Christopher earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2013.
