Margarita Nerier Lavides

Margarita Nerier Lavides is a dedicated academic and researcher with extensive experience in marine sciences and environmental education. Currently, Lavides serves as a faculty member at multiple institutions, including Unity Environmental University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Bergen Community College, and Manhattan University, where courses on marine biology, climate change biology, and environmental science are taught. Previous roles include biology teacher at the NYC Department of Education and independent researcher examining coral reef fish local extinction patterns. Lavides has also contributed as a consultant and project development specialist for various organizations, including the Samdhana Institute and Earth Law Center, focusing on marine tenure security and establishing nature's rights regimes.
