Demetrius Smith

Demetrius Smith is currently serving as a Behavioral Health Fellow at Unity Health Care, having commenced in May 2024. Previously, Demetrius held the position of HIV Linkage Coordinator at Henry J. Austin Health Center from September 2016 to October 2024, providing comprehensive support to patients re-engaging in treatment. Prior to that, Demetrius worked as a Treatment Adherence Counselor at Hyacinth AIDS Foundation, focusing on outreach and case management for clients living with HIV. Additional experience includes serving as a Corps Member with City Year, providing academic support to middle school students, and working in various roles at Rutgers University, including HIV Counselor and Office Assistant. Demetrius holds a Master's of Social Work in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the same institution, and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Rowan College at Burlington County.
