Carlos Seijas is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in human rights, education, and conflict resolution. Currently serving as the Director of the Observatorio del Procurador de los Derechos Humanos at the PROCURADURÍA DE LOS DERECHOS HUMANOS since February 2006, Carlos leads efforts to analyze and continuously update knowledge on the human rights situation in Guatemala. In academia, Carlos holds associate professor positions at Universidad Galileo and Universidad Mesoamericana, covering subjects such as public administration, finance, and sociology. Previous roles include Director of the Department of Psychology at Universidad Rafael Landivar and Director of the University Guidance Center at Universidad Francisco Marroquín. Carlos possesses an impressive educational background, including a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Psychoanalysis from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, a Master’s in Mathematics and Statistics from Universidad de Costa Rica, and a Licenciatura in Psychology from Universidad Francisco Marroquín.
