Mikaela Pisani Leal

Mikaela Pisani Leal is an accomplished professional in the field of machine learning and big data, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Universidad ORT Uruguay since March 2020. Prior to this role, Mikaela was the Head of Machine Learning at Rootstrap from December 2019 to October 2024, specializing in the application of machine learning algorithms for value generation. Mikaela's extensive experience includes serving as a Big Data Developer and Tech Lead at netlabs from 2013 to December 2019, where leadership and personnel training were key responsibilities. Earlier professional experience includes a stint as a Research Assistant at Texas Tech University, where data cleansing and processing of Google Trends data were conducted. Mikaela holds a Master of Data Science from Texas Tech University, a degree in Privacy Enhancing Technology from OpenMined, and completed a seminary in Neuroscience and AI in collaboration with the Instituto de Investigación de Correos y Telecomunicaciones de Wuhan. Additionally, a degree in Computer Engineering was earned from Universidad de la República.
