James Shamiyeh M.D.

James Shamiyeh MD MBA serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at UT Medical Center, a role held since October 2016, with previous positions within the organization including Executive Vice-President of Clinical Operations, Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, and Medical Director of the Heart Lung Vascular Institute. In addition, James participated in Leadership Tennessee and completed the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2019. James's educational background includes an MBA in Healthcare Business from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an MD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, complemented by a Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
