Andrew Davies

Professor Of Public Religion at University of Birmingham

Andrew Davies is a Professor of Public Religion and Senior Lecturer in the School of Philosophy, Theology & Religion at the University of Birmingham, where Andrew has been since 2010. Previously, Andrew served as a Reader in the Public Understanding of Religion at the Department of Theology & Religion, University of Birmingham, from July 2015 to June 2021. Prior to this role, Andrew was the Vice Principal at Mattersey Hall from 2005 to 2010, overseeing the Graduate School and managing academic registrar responsibilities. Andrew also held the position of Director of Distance Learning at Mattersey Hall from 2000 to 2004. Educational credentials include an MA in Biblical Studies and a PhD in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield, as well as a BD (Hons) in Divinity from King's College London, and a CDRS DipTh in Theology & Ministry Studies from Mattersey Hall.
