Alicia González Díaz

Alicia González Díaz is a PhD student and La Caixa Foundation Fellow at the University of Cambridge, specializing in Stem Cell Biology, Neuroscience, and Biophysics under the supervision of Prof. Michele Vendruscolo. Alicia's research focuses on bridging biophysics and neurobiology. Previous experience includes a role as a Graduate Student Researcher at WaveBreak, contributing to Aβ drug discovery and developing preclinical models for Alzheimer's disease. Alicia has also held positions as a Research Assistant at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas de Madrid, where research involved the NRF2 transcription factor and blood-brain barrier integrity, and as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Instituto de Biomedicina de Valencia, working on an inducible model of Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome using CRISPR technology. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Universitat Politècnica de València. Additionally, Alicia was a TEDx speaker in June 2014.
