Paul Harvey is a highly experienced academic and researcher specializing in autonomous systems and network innovation. Currently serving as a Shadow Board Member and Lecturer in Autonomous Systems at the University of Glasgow since June 2022, Paul is also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Strathclyde and Co-Chair of the Architecture Working Group for the International Telecommunication Union's Focus Group on Autonomous Networks. Previous roles include Research Lead at Rakuten Mobile, where Paul contributed to the implementation of end-to-end virtualized networks, and Senior Researcher at Rakuten Institute of Technology, focusing on edge computing in robotics. Paul’s extensive research experience encompasses a JSPS Fellowship at the National Institute of Informatics, work as a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast, and various academic positions highlighting contributions to adaptive programming and computing science curriculum development. Paul holds a Ph.D. and multiple degrees in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow.
