Joe Powell

Joe (Joseph B.) Powell is a seasoned professional in the field of chemical engineering, currently serving as the Director of the Energy Transition Institute at the University of Houston. With a background that includes roles as Principal at ChemePD LLC and as an Industry Lecturer at the University of Houston, Joe has extensive experience in academia and industry. Prior to these positions, Joe held key roles at Shell as Chief Scientist in Chemical Engineering and at Exxon Production Research as a Senior Research Engineer. Joe earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
