Blake Wood

Blake Wood is the Director of Media Strategy at the University of Illinois Springfield, a position held since August 2009, previously known as the Director of Public Relations. Blake's responsibilities include serving as the university's media spokesperson, managing social media, handling media requests, writing press releases, and producing video stories for the UIS website. Prior to this role, Blake held several positions related to public relations at UIS and worked as a Bureau Reporter and Assignment Editor at WCIA, where coverage focused on political news at the Illinois Capitol. Blake's earlier experience includes reporting, anchoring, and producing at WEIU-TV. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Eastern Illinois University.
