Christopher Lobb is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as an Affiliate Researcher at Georgetown University since January 2024, Lobb is also an Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, where contributions include research in Josephson-junction based quantum computing and teaching diverse physics courses. From July 2011 to May 2024, Lobb held the position of Director of the Center for Nanophysics and Advanced Materials at NIST, focusing on atomic physics analogs of electronic devices. Previously, Lobb was an Assistant and Associate Professor at Harvard University and completed graduate studies there, culminating in a PhD in Applied Physics in 1980, following a BA in Physics from Rutgers University.
