Michael Speer

Michael Speer, PhD, is a faculty member at the University of Maryland's School of Public Policy since January 2006, specializing in graduate courses on leadership and group dynamics. As an organization consultant and leadership coach since 2003, Michael Speer provides services in organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, role analysis, and teambuilding. In addition to consulting roles at various institutions, Michael Speer has served as an associate at the AK Rice Institute and the Washington Baltimore Center for the Study of Group Relations, as well as a board member and founding vice-chair at the Chesapeake Center for Public Leadership. Michael Speer holds a PhD in History from The Ohio State University and a BA in History from Sewanee, The University of the South, enhanced by numerous certificates in group dynamics and organizational development.
