Ayan Das is currently a PhD Graduate Student at UNSW since May 2024. Previously, Ayan held the position of Project Associate I and Placement Coordinator at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad from April 2021 to December 2023. Ayan also completed a dissertation project at the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore focused on the in-silico identification of active anti-viral compounds against the Nucleocapsid and RdRp proteins of SARS-CoV-2 during a brief tenure in early 2020. Ayan's experience includes a Summer Research Internship at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, where Ayan studied autophagy and apoptosis in Alzheimer's Disease, and as an IAS Summer Research Fellow at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute, where Ayan worked on cloning and purifying the Respiratory Syncytial Virus-Fusion 1 protein. Ayan obtained an M.Tech in Medical Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (2020-2022) and a B.Tech in Biotechnology from Techno India University, West Bengal (2016-2020). Ayan completed high school at Kendriya Vidyalaya with a focus on Bioscience from 2014 to 2016.
