Johana Tello serves as a Research Officer at the 3D Culture Facility within the Katharina Gaus Light Microscopy Facility at UNSW since December 2023. Previously, Tello was a Senior Scientist and Pre-clinical Biomarker Lead at Ulysses Neuroscience Limited from April 2022 to August 2023. From January 2021 to April 2022, Tello held the position of Research Fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and served as a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin from May 2019 to June 2020, focusing on the anti-inflammatory potential of novel cannabinoid compounds in Burning Mouth Syndrome. Tello's research background includes work as a Research Fellow at the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery from January 2016 to January 2019, where the effect of olfactory cell transplantation on spinal cord injury therapy was investigated. Tello holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from Griffith University, a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from QUT, a Diploma in Animal Technology from The University of Queensland, and a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
