Meridith Whitaker

Meridith Whitaker is a seasoned professional in nonprofit development and foundation relations, currently serving as the Foundation Relations Development Officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since May 2024. In this role, Meridith builds partnerships with local foundations to enhance college access for students through programs like the Carolina College Advising Corps and C-STEP. Prior experience includes serving as Development Manager at the Public School Forum of North Carolina, where grantwriting efforts supported 20+ annual grants and $2.8 million in revenue, and as Director of Donor Services at The Winston-Salem Foundation, managing donor relations and overseeing charitable funds. Additional roles involved writing for Forsyth Magazines and managing operations at the Davie Community Foundation. Meridith holds a Master's in Journalism & Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Kent State University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Appalachian State University.
