Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith is a seasoned professional in the field of physiotherapy and sports medicine, currently serving as a Teaching Associate in Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham since May 2024. Previously, Ryan held roles as an External Examiner for MSc (pre-registration) Physiotherapy at the University of Central Lancashire and as Head of Sports Science and Medicine/Lead Physiotherapist at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Ryan's extensive experience includes lecturing in Paramedicine at De Montfort University, working as an Assistant Physiotherapist and Physiotherapist at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and Sano Physiotherapy Ltd, respectively, as well as serving as an Academy Sports Therapist for Sheffield United Football Club. Ryan is also the founder of Ascend Sports Therapy and has completed an internship with Sheffield United PLC. Educationally, Ryan holds an MSc in Physiotherapy and a First Class Honours degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy from Leeds Beckett University.
