Kathrin Gassei-Cummings

Kathrin Gassei-Cummings, PhD, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Industry Partnerships at the University of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include cultivating strategic research and innovation partnerships in the life sciences. With extensive experience in healthcare data commercialization and translational research, Kathrin has held multiple leadership roles at Pitt sciVelo, overseeing projects funded by federal and private sectors. Prior experience includes contributing to early-stage healthcare IT and biotechnology initiatives at organizations such as Immunetrics and UPMC, as well as engaging in due diligence for women-owned startups at Next Act Fund LLC. Kathrin holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare and a PhD in Biology, supplemented by a Master's in Biotechnology and a certificate in Medical Product Innovation.
