Jonny Williams

Jonny Williams is a researcher specializing in climate change impacts on aviation at the University of Reading, where employment began in June 2024. Prior to this role, Williams spent nearly nine years at NIWA as an Earth System Modelling Scientist and served as a Research Associate in Climate Science at the University of Bristol, leading the development of the FAMOUS numerical climate modeling system in collaboration with several institutions including the Met Office Hadley Centre. Previous experience includes positions as a Junior Consultant at Eunomia Research and Consulting, where engagement in projects related to waste management and climate change adaptation occurred, and as a Climate Research Scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, contributing to climate model development and publishing research on rainfall changes due to climate change. Williams's career began with a Postdoctoral Researcher role at Cranfield University and is supported by an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London and a PhD in Physics, Computing, and Electrochemistry from the University of Bath.
