Eric Schonewald

Eric Schonewald is an accomplished leader in development and philanthropy with extensive experience in higher education and health initiatives. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President for Development, Health Initiatives at URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement since July 2021, Eric previously held the position of Managing Director of Development - Academic Health Collaborative at the same organization from April 2018 to December 2021. Prior to this, Eric was Senior Director of Development at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and held multiple roles at Yale School of Medicine, culminating as Director of Development & Alumni Advancement. Eric commenced a career in hospitality management with notable positions at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Hyatt Corporation. An alumnus of Cornell University with continuous professional development, Eric has a proven track record of enhancing philanthropic initiatives, increasing alumni engagement, and driving substantial fundraising efforts across institutions.
