Helena McShane

Helena McShane is an experienced student leader and journalist, currently serving as the elected secretary for the Student Athletes Advisory Committee at the University of Richmond for the 2024/2025 term. In addition to writing for the UR Capital News Service and The UR Collegian, Helena holds the position of President of the Student Athletes of Color Alliance, advocating for the needs of peers within the Richmond athletic department. As a student athlete with the NCAA, Helena has also interned with NBCUniversal, where valuable skills in script writing, on-camera presentation, and multimedia production were developed. Further experience includes receptionist roles at City Fitness and Lombard Swim Club. Helena is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Richmond, with an academic background that includes a high school diploma from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy.
