Ernie Kim

Ernie Kim, P.E., has extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering, currently serving as a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Gentleman Engineer at the University of San Diego since September 1990. Previously, Ernie Kim operated as an Engineering Designer for My Own Business, specializing in engineering design consultancy from August 2006 to January 2015. Other roles include Principal RF Engineer at Lightwave Solutions, Inc., where responsibilities included designing analog and RF circuits for cable television, and Principal Microwave Engineer at All Optical Networks, overseeing the design of analog electronics circuits. Ernie Kim's career also includes management and engineering positions at IPITEK, Burroughs Corporation, National Bureau of Standards, and a temporary role at the University of Hawaii Contractor to the Naval Ocean Systems Center. Ernie Kim holds both MSEE and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University, as well as a BSEE degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
