Meghann Jarchow is an esteemed academic and leader in the field of sustainability and environmental studies, currently serving as Chair and Professor in the Department of Sustainability & Environment at the University of South Dakota since July 2012. With a solid background in academia, Jarchow transitioned from Coordinator and Assistant Professor to Chair and Associate Professor in the same department. In addition to academic roles, Jarchow actively contributes to various organizations, holding positions such as Chair of the Board of Directors at Greening Vermillion, President of the Board of Directors at Lewis and Clark-Spirit Mound Trust Inc., and a Board Member at Ecosun Prairie Farms Inc. Academic achievements include a PhD in Sustainable Agriculture and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Iowa State University, a Master of Science in Biology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Ripon College.
