Robert Rissman serves as the Keck Endowed Chair in Medicine and Professor of Physiology & Neuroscience at the University of Southern California since September 2022. Rissman also holds leadership roles as Director of the Biomarker Core and the Neuroscience Translational Research Division at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute, and as Founding Director of the Biomarker Unit and Biorepository within the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium. Previously, Rissman held several positions at UC San Diego from September 2008 to June 2024, including Professor of Neurosciences and Director of various cores related to Alzheimer’s research. Rissman has also worked as a Research Biologist at the San Diego VA Health Care System and as a Staff Scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Rissman's education includes a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Drexel University College of Medicine and a Bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego.
