Sue Barrell AO FTSE is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Chair of the ANU Institute for Space since January 2024, Barrell also leads the RRAP Intervention Risk Review Group and Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory Ltd. Additionally, Barrell is a Board Member of the Australian Research Data Commons and has held advisory positions with the Dark Matter Centre and the UN Ocean Decade Australia Business Leaders' Summit. With a strong commitment to promoting women in STEM, Barrell's past roles include membership on the marine national facility's Steering Committee and the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute's Board. Barrell holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from The Australian National University and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Canterbury, along with a Graduate Diploma in Meteorology from the Bureau of Meteorology.
