Maria Stedman

Maria Stedman has extensive experience in governance and finance within educational institutions and local government. Since November 2017, Maria has served as a Council Member at the University of Wales. Maria holds the position of Chair at Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion, while also being a Lay Member and Vice Chair of the University Council at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David since November 2005. Previous roles include Audit Committee member for the Welsh Language Commissioner, Head of CIPFA Wales Cymru, and Senior Assistant Director of Finance at Swansea University. Maria's earlier experience includes accounting roles at Carmarthenshire County Council and Dyfed County Council. Education was completed at QEGSG Carmarthen from 1967 to 1973.
