Amy Ko is a Professor at the University of Washington since 2008, specializing in equitable approaches to teaching computing and offering courses in human-computer interaction, interaction design, software engineering, and information in society. As a co-founder and Chief Scientist at AnswerDash from 2012 to 2020, Amy led research and development, product strategy, and served as an academic liaison until the company was acquired by CloudEngage. Previously, Amy held the role of co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, responsible for product management, architecture, and engineering. Amy completed a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, where work with Brad Myers led to the development of innovative developer tools, including the debugging tool "Whyline." Additional experience includes a research internship at Microsoft, focused on information needs in software engineering, and serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Oregon State University. Amy holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Psychology from Oregon State University.
