Mark Thistlethwayte graduated with a degree in accountancy from the University of Exeter, followed by a career in the City of London working for James Capel, Cazenove and then as the Chief Executive of various Rothschild group companies. In 2008 he set up Buckland Capital Partners in Winchester, running a diverse portfolio of businesses across the country and seeking to promote a “greener” vision for delivering vital new housing. He actively engages with all businesses and the property development business is the lead developer of the new 6,000 home Garden Village of Welborne, near Fareham. Mark also manages the family owned Southwick Estate, to the north of Portsmouth.
Much of what Mark is involved with enables individuals to achieve their entrepreneurial goals. Whether this is through supporting their long-held business visions or in helping build genuinely sustainable rural communities where there are both jobs and quality affordable homes.
Mark is the Patron of The Rowans Hospice and actively supports various other bodies supporting those with homelessness, severe learning difficulties and long-term challenges. Mark also acts as a director/trustee for a number of community groups and trusts.
