Alirza Orujov is an accomplished professional with experience in various engineering roles, particularly in the petroleum and mining sectors. Currently serving as a Summer Intern at Brierley Associates Corporation, Alirza focuses on reclamation and subsidence prevention related to abandoned coal mines. Prior roles include contributions as a Research Team Member at CMC-UF and a Research Study Assistant at the University of Wyoming, where experimental studies on rock properties were conducted. Additional experience encompasses positions as a Graduate Research Assistant at CERENA, Construction Engineer and Production Engineer internships at the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), as well as a research assistant role at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Alirza holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and a Bachelor’s degree in Production & Pipeline Engineering from Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry.
