Sol Villa Michel

Sol Villa Michel serves as the Head of Partnerships for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNOPS since June 2023. Previous roles include Director of Latin America Government Relations at Forte and Minister Counselor at the Costa Rican Embassy in the United States, where emphasis was placed on strengthening relations between Costa Rica and the U.S. and addressing key issues such as security and trade. Other notable positions include Minister Counselor at the Costa Rican Embassy in Honduras and Advisor to the Ambassador in Chile, along with consultancy roles focused on Clean Development Mechanisms with UNDP and SNV. Sol Villa Michel held strategic positions at the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, contributing to strategic planning and development effectiveness, and served as Ambassador to Barbados and St. Kitts & Nevis. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Political Science with a Specialty in International Relations from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the Universidad Internacional de las Américas.
