Valeria Cetorelli

Valeria Cetorelli, PhD, currently serves as Deputy Director and Head of the Refugee Registration and Eligibility Division at UNRWA, overseeing registration operations for nearly 6 million Palestine refugees across various regions. Previously, Valeria worked as a Demographic Statistician at UNESCWA, focusing on population data systems and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, where Valeria conducted demographic research and engaged with stakeholders on crisis response, and a research officer role at LSE, leading projects on demographic impacts of conflicts such as the ISIS genocide against the Yazidi community. Valeria holds a PhD in Demography from LSE, alongside master's degrees in Population and Development and Social Research, and a bachelor's degree in Political Science.
