Javier Solari

Javier Solari serves as the VP Fibres Strategy and Business Relations at UPM - The Biofore Company since March 2023, focusing on investment opportunities for UPM Fibres primarily in South America and managing business relations in Uruguay. Prior to this role, Javier held the position of VP Uruguay Project at UPM Uruguay from March 2015 to March 2023, where responsibilities included political, forestry, logistics, and stakeholder strategy, alongside leading negotiations for a $4 billion investment. Javier's earlier experience includes roles such as VP Plantation Operations at UPM-Kymmene, where project management in Africa and organizational transformations took place, and General Manager positions at Tile Forestal S.A. and UPM Forestal Oriental, contributing significantly to growth and exports. Additionally, experiences at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co and Shell involved business development and logistics management. Javier holds an MBA in Finance and Management from Columbia Business School and a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Universidad de la República.
