Emberlin Leja

Emberlin Leja is an experienced project manager and policy analyst currently serving in the Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute since December 2021. Prior roles include Project Administrator and Research Assistant at the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, as well as an Innovation and Design Intern and Policy and Communications Fellow for the City of Syracuse, where successful initiatives included creating policy reports and conducting research on public engagement post-COVID-19. Emberlin has also consulted on key performance indicators for the Veterans Affairs Transition Assistance Program with the Office of Management and Budget and contributed to the U.S. Census Bureau's Open Innovation Labs Opportunity Project. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a focus on Citizenship and Civic Engagement.
