Karishma Furtado is an accomplished equity scholar and research leader with extensive experience in data-driven approaches to racial equity. Currently serving as an Equity Scholar at the Urban Institute, Karishma also holds a position as the Director of Data and Research at Forward Through Ferguson, where efforts focus on human-centered data and accountability. Previous roles include positions as a strategic planning consultant, research associate, and analyst across various organizations, including Washington University in St. Louis and The Advisory Board Company. Karishma earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health Sciences and a Master of Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
