Dave Bjarnason

Dave Bjarnason, CFA, serves as the Chief Compliance Officer - Investments at Utah Retirement Systems since August 2017, having joined the organization in March 2010 as a Senior Compliance Officer - Investments. Prior to this role, Dave was a Portfolio Manager at Western Investment LLC from 2004 to 2009, where responsibilities included trading a portfolio primarily of preferred stocks from equity and mortgage REITs. Earlier career experiences include a summer internship as a Research Analyst at Halpern Capital in 2003, a Data Warehousing Consultant for Intel Corporation in 2001, and a Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC from 1998 to 2000, where Dave focused on data warehousing projects. Dave holds an MBA in Finance and a BA in English Literature from Brigham Young University.
