Sofia Hernandez

Sofia Hernandez is an experienced professional in economic development and legislative affairs, currently serving as the Economic Development & Legislative Affairs Director for Hidalgo County. Previously, Sofia held the position of Chief Operating Officer at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's School of Medicine, and served as Vice President of Government & Public Affairs at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Sofia's earlier experience includes acting as Legislative Director for Senator Juan Hinojosa, focusing on healthcare, higher education, and transportation. Sofia holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the Texas McCombs School of Business, earned between 1989 and 1993.
