David Thompson was born and raised in the Sulphur Springs Valley and has been a Valley Telephone Cooperative member since 1990.
David graduated from Willcox High School and attended Cochise College. David has been in the agriculture industry all of his life. He was an active member of 4-H and FFA throughout his school years and he remains a supporter of both FFA and 4-H. Over the years, he has served as a project leader, Cochise County Junior Livestock Auction member, Livestock Committee member and Cochise County Fair Beef Superintendent. He is a member of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, Cochise Graham Cattle Growers Association and National Cattleman’s Beef Association. David is also a member of the Board of Directors for Maid Rite Feeds. David was recently elected to the Cochise County Farm and Livestock Board. Before his current occupation, David worked for Stronghold Feeds, Fertizona, and Kansas Settlement Gin. David was appointed to the Valley Telephone Cooperative Board on April 28, 1999 in District 2. Since being appointed, David has served on the Audit, Nominating, Scholarship, Policy, Executive and Finance Committees. He has served as the Board Secretary/Treasure and the Arizona Legislative Coordinator and currently serves as the Board President.
