Cesar Olea

Cesar Olea is a highly experienced professional in the field of metallurgical engineering, currently serving as Quality General Manager at Vallourec since August 2008. With a progressive career encompassing roles such as Superintendente de Controle de Qualidade e Industrialização, Gerente de Industrialização e Engenharia de Produto, and OCTG Product Manager, Cesar has specialized in process and product quality within the steel industry, particularly for the oil and gas sector. Cesar's expertise includes materials selection, welding, metallurgy, and corrosion, with a strong emphasis on research and development of processes and products for the petroleum industry. Additionally, Cesar served as a professor at PUC Minas from 2011 to July 2020 and worked as a researcher at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht Zentrum für Material- und Küstenforschung from 2002 to 2008. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum, a Master’s in Materials Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões - URI.
